1. About Archivvve

Archivvve lets you save, organize, search, and revisit links, posts, images, videos, selected text, and notes. This policy applies to the Archivvve website, Chrome extension, iPhone app and share extension, and related services.

2. Information we collect

Account and connection information

When you sign in, we receive account details such as your email address, name, and profile image from your sign-in provider. We also keep identifiers for browsers and devices you connect to your account, along with revocable credentials used to keep those clients signed in. Archivvve does not receive your Google password.

Content you choose to save

We store the material you ask Archivvve to keep. Depending on the item, that can include a page URL and title, selected text, images, video, page or post metadata, author and source information, optional notes, optional tags, and the date you saved it. Archivvve may create extracted text, summaries, tags, visual descriptions, embeddings, and relationships so that your archive can be searched and explored.

Usage and technical information

We process limited technical and product-usage information needed to operate and improve the service, such as capture and processing status, searches and item opens, timestamps, browser or device information, IP address, errors, and security events.

Information stored by the Chrome extension

The extension stores its Archivvve connection, account display information, a random device identifier, and short-lived delivery data in Chrome local storage. If a save cannot be delivered immediately, a bounded local outbox retains the requested save for retry. Retry entries expire after seven days, are capped at 50, and are cleared when you disconnect the extension.

3. How we use information

We use this information to:

• authenticate you and connect approved browsers and devices;
• capture, store, process, organize, and display the content you save;
• generate tags, summaries, search indexes, recommendations, and taste patterns;
• provide search, retrieval, related-item, and conversational features;
• maintain reliability, prevent abuse, diagnose errors, and protect accounts; and
• communicate about access, support, security, and material service changes.

4. Chrome extension permissions

The Archivvve extension requests only the permissions needed for its capture flow:

• activeTab gives temporary access to the tab you are viewing after you open or use the extension.
• scripting reads text you selected on that visible page so it can be included in the save. It is used together with activeTab, not for general browsing surveillance.
• storage keeps your connection, preferences, and short-lived retry queue on your device.
• identity opens and completes the secure connection between the extension and your Archivvve account.
• alarms schedules delivery retries when a temporary network or server problem interrupts a save.
• Access to www.archivvve.com lets the extension connect your account and send only the saves you request.

The extension does not request your browsing history, does not monitor pages in the background, does not inject advertising, and does not execute remotely hosted code.

5. Processing and service providers

Archivvve uses service providers to host the application, authenticate accounts, store data and media, retrieve public page content, process video, deliver email, monitor reliability, and provide extraction, tagging, search, and AI features. We send providers only the information reasonably needed to perform those functions for Archivvve. Their processing is governed by contracts and their own privacy and security terms.

6. How information is shared

Archivvve does not sell personal information or saved content, and does not use it for third-party advertising. We may disclose information to service providers described above; when required to comply with law or protect rights, safety, and security; or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or transfer of the service. We do not make your private archive public unless you deliberately choose to publish or share specific material through a feature that clearly says so.

7. Google user data

Archivvve uses information received from Google APIs only to sign you in, identify your account, and provide the user-facing Archivvve features you request. Our use and transfer of that information follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

8. Retention, deletion, and your choices

We retain account information and saved content while your account is active, unless a shorter period is required for a particular record. You can delete individual saved items in Archivvve and disconnect a browser from the extension or your account settings. To request account access, correction, export, or deletion, email support@archivvve.com. We may retain limited records where required for security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or backup integrity, then delete or de-identify them when they are no longer needed.

9. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information, including scoped and revocable client credentials, encrypted network connections, access controls, and account-level data isolation. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International processing

Archivvve and its providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

11. Children

Archivvve is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided such information.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Archivvve changes. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice when appropriate.
